District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) has been started functioning in Pathanamthitta district with effect from 1-9-1989.

At present Sri. Jacob Job   , Dy.S.P is the head of this wing.

Following units are functioning along with DCRB.

• Single Digit Finger Print Bureau

• Photographic Unit

• Scientific Assistant attached with the district mobile laboratory.

• Computer cell

• Police Dog squad

• Functioning of DCRB

        DCRB is functioning under the overall control of Supdt. of Police, Pathanamthitta.

• To supervise and streamline collection of all type of Crime/Criminal data under the Police computerization scheme from police establishments in Pathanamthitta district.

• To supervise, guide, evaluate and modernize crime records management at district level.

• To give information of M.O criminals to investigating officers in District level.

• Collect and process Crime statistics of the district.

• To provide training facility to the police personnel in the district level in crime work and conduct training programmes as when entrusted by the SCRB and NCRB.

• To perform other duties for proper crime records management in the District and for effective implementation of the Police computerization scheme.
  
  This unit keeps the records of all crime and criminals information.
