   Sri. P SREENIVASAN IPS born in 1943 at Changanassery and brought up there. Graduated in Mathematics from NSS Hindu College Changanasserry. Entered in to Police service in 1967 as Probationary SI. First posting as SI of Police, Peravoor in Kannur Dist. Promoted as CI of Police in 1975 and as Dy SP in 1984. Became Supdt. of Police in 1997 and elevated to IPS in 1998.

During the long career of 36 years, worked in Northern and Southern Districts of Kerala in different capacities also worked in almost all branches of the Police department. Worked District Supdt. of Police in Kollam and continue to work in Pathanamtitta from 10/06/02 onwards .

During his carreer he was instrumental for the successful investigation, detection and prosecution of a number of cases. This includes some of the naxalite cases that rocked Kerala in the first half of 1970s. Made first arrests of Naxalites in Kerala in Dec. 1968. Those arrested include prominent Naxalite leaders like Smt. K. Ajitha , Adv. Philip M Prasad etc. During his career he has been awarded with number of rewards and commendations for the good work turned out by him
